Wine Country Weekend

Happy Monday - how was your weekend? Do you still wish it was the weekend? I sure do. Luke surprised me with a trip to Sonoma which was amazing. It was quick - only one night - but packed with lots of good food, delicious wine and of course beautiful wine country.   Here are some pics from our wine country weekend - I am already ready to go back next weekend. I am normally the planner - I like to plan everything down to the minute and it is sometimes a struggle to let someone else take the reins. But this past weekend, Luke was in charge and the only thing I had to worry about was making sure my wine glass was full. It was amazing. I think I can get used to this. Luke had the genius idea to bring our  bikes with us so we rode our bikes throughout Sonoma which was stunning and we also didn't have to worry about who was going to drive. We tasted at a couple different vineyards but Hawkes was my favorite. We may have joined their wine club after a few too many glasses of their wine and now have bottles and bottles of it to drink. But it was delicious.Who wants to come over and drink some vino? The whole weekend was inspired by a concert series that takes place at Gundlach Bundschu. We had no idea who the band was, but how can you not have fun watching the sun set in wine country and drinking wine? It was a magical. Nights like these make me so grateful to live in the Bay Area. We stayed at this adorable B&B right off the Sonoma Square called An Inn 2 Remember. I am not normally a huge fan of B&B's mostly because they can be a little dated but this one was perfect - decorated really well, thoughtful owners and delicious food. If you are looking for a place to stay in Sonoma make sure to check out Ann Inn 2 Remember . The food is always a highlight when spending time up in wine country - we hit up the Fremont Dinner, the El Dorado Kitchen and Girl and the Fig. All three of those rank pretty high on my favorite places to eat but make sure you hit up the Girl and the Fig if you get to Sonoma. It might be my all-time favorite restaurant with its seasonal dishes and amazing cocktail and wine list.

It was a fantastic weekend that I wish could go on and on.  Have a great week!
