Tempura Green Beans with Wasabi Dipping Sauce
Vegetable oil
1 ¼ cup flour
1 1/2 cups club soda
2 teaspoons salt
½ lb trimmed green beans
¼ cup mayonnaise
1 Tbs. dried wasabi
Pour 3” vegetable oil into a Dutch oven and heat over medium until the oil reaches 350F°
Whisk together the mayonnaise and wasabi. Set aside.
In a large bowl whisk together the flour, club soda, and salt. Coat the green beans in the flour mixture then place in the oil. Fry for about 3 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove with a slotted spoon and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Repeat with remaining green beans and serve with the dipping sauce.
